Or “Happy Resurrection Day!” for those of us with a legalistic streak.
Today is a day of celebration. It is the day we remember the greatest and most joyful event in all of history. No. Not the
coming of the Easter Bunny, but the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Messiah Christ Jesus (and hopefully this is not the
only day we remember it.) It is a day of fellowship. It is a day to spend time with family and
friends. It doesn’t matter whether you hold Easter egg hunts or not. (See Mr. Dave’s Corner for more on that subject.) No matter how we spend this day, we must never forget the great gift Christ gave to us and the
awesome price He paid for it. Thank you, Jesus!
Take some time today to read some of the key passages about this day, and why we need to remember it.
Read
some or all of the following:
Genesis 22:1-19 Exodus 11-12 Matthew 26-28 Mark 14-16 Luke 22-24 John 13; 18-20 What
do we learn from these passages and how should they affect our walk with Christ?

Forgiven Again? The title of our book, Forgiven Again? has a question mark on it for a reason.
It comes from the humbling realization that we mess things up daily. And even though we do, Christ “is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins” (1 John 1:9 NLT) How? Why? Why
would God want to forgive us? The answer is that He loves us.
The resurrection is proof of that. Thank you, God!

Mr. Dave’s Corner
Easter, like Christmas, has been merged with ancient pagan practices. Some Christians have Easter baskets and egg hunts, while
others feel led to avoid any worldly influences. Others still not only avoid those things, but try to impel others to do the
same. In Romans 14, the Apostle Paul speaks of this very situation. “Who are you
to condemn someone else’s servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him judge whether they are right or wrong.
And with the Lord’s help, they will do what is right and will receive his approval.” (Romans 14:4 NLT)
In Christ, pagan symbols have no power. They cannot affect you salvation. However if your conscience if pricked by these things,
by all means avoid them. Remember it is not what you do, but why you do it and Who you do it
for. -Mr. Dave Scripture quotations marked NLT are taken from the Holy Bible, New Living Translation, copyright
