Biblical Perspective
God
is more then able to help an alcoholic. Referring to drunkards, Paul wrote, "There was a time when some of you were just like
that but now your sins are washed away, and you were set apart for God, and he has accepted you because of what the Lord Jesus
Christ and the Spirit of our God have done for you" (1 Cor. 6:11). Alcohol abuse is the result of following our own wrong inclinations
also known as sin (missing the mark) (Gal. 5:19-21), but the Holy Spirit is able to control our lives and produce in us
the self-control needed to overcome alcoholism (Gal. 5:22, 23).
