How can I know sound doctrine from false doctrine?
Are my beliefs biblically sound?
Peter states: ... Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)
Because of a vast amount
of doubt and uncertainty that has spiritually hurt many within the body of Christ concerning one’s faith, statements
made of judgments as causes of sickness along with generational curses and other questionable beliefs we have included this
page of counsel that you may look to the Word for answers.
Out of 29 chapters between first and second
Corinthians, 28 chapters were written because there was
no other church that had more trouble or that was more sinful then the Corinthian Church.
Paul writes, 1 Corinthians 4:14 (NIV) “I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children.”
Corinthians was not written
to shame the Corinthian Church nor was it written to just beat them down but it was written out
of love to admonish them to righteous behavior where they would begin to inherit the blessing of God.
Paul was not admonished for blaspheming the Holy Sprit but on the contrary Paul gave clear counsel to misusing gifts for personal
use was walking on very dangerous ground. The book of Corinthians is loaded with rebuke for problems within the church that
needed to be addressed.
It is not
a sin to question, look at, compare and scrutinize our beliefs to see if
they aligned with the Word.
Are you prepared to give an answer to everyone who
asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have? Can you give an answer to what you believe? How would you judge the
soundness of your beliefs? How do you judge the soundness of a belief? Can you testify to what you believe with the Word as
your authority or will you have to use experiential evidence as your authority? Is your authority “revelation knowledge”?
Will the new revelation knowledge stand up with the word? Will you stand by revelation knowledge over the Word? Is it possible
that a belief is based on a scripture that has been pulled out of context? Are you open for correction
from the Word if the word differs from your belief? Do you believe in new revelation or is the Word of God a closed canon,
and why is that important?
Those are fair question. Are you willing as the Berean’s to examine the Scriptures to see if what is proclaimed is false
or true? Acts 17:11 (NIV)
John MacArthur of Grace to You States in a teaching series “A Call for Discernment, Pt. 3”
“How can I become a discerning person?”
“Step one, desire...desire. It starts there. It starts
there. If you have no desire to be discerning, believe me, you won't be. If you're only desire is to be
happy, healthy, wealthy, prosperous, wise, if your only desire is to be satisfied, comfortable, if your only desire is to
propagate what you believe and what you feel and what you think, if your only desire is to make sure that your view is heard
on everything, you'll never be a discerning person. Discernment comes out of desire born
out of humility. A humility that says I don't know and I don't trust my own judgment, I must become discerning.
A desire that comes from the fact that I believe so much in the Word of God and the truth of God and I understand so clearly
the attacks of Satan and his desire to bring in damnable heresy, I must be a discerning person. I know I have a deception
capability. I can be deceived. I know I can't trust my own feelings and longings and emotions and thoughts
and concepts. I must be discerning. I know I can be lured in to false doctrine. I must be discerning.
I know that I can control my theology by my selfish desire. I must be discerning.
And when out of the humility of your own ineptness and the recognition of your own weakness you say I long to be discerning,
you're on the path. That's step one, Proverbs 2, let me read it to you. Proverbs 2 verse 3, ‘If
you cry for discernment, if you lift your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden
treasures, then you will discern.’...then you'll get it and you'll be able to discern what is truly the fear
of the Lord and the knowledge of God. When you want it, when you desire it, when you hunger for it, this drives
the whole thing.”

1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 21 and 22. The Apostle Paul writes, "But examine everything carefully, hold fast to that which is good, abstain from every
form of evil."
The Apostle Paul in this text is saying
you better examine everything and you better examine it carefully and you better find out what it is good and hold on to it
and what is not and let go of it.

Discernment: Spiritual Survival for a Church in Crisis
Two boxes, of similar size and color, but with a big difference: One is breakfast cereal; the other, rat poison! While
you’d never store boxes like that on the same shelf, sometimes we’re guilty of doing just that in our spiritual
cupboards, mingling true doctrine and deadly, false teaching. And worse still, many Christians don’t realize that’s
what they’re doing.
So how do we get back on track? How do we wade through the sea of doctrines, opinions, and ideas embraced within our churches
and discern truth from error? Questions John MacArthur examines in Discernment: Spiritual Survival for a Church in Crisis,
a powerful study you don’t want to miss.

Charismatic
Chaos
The charismatic movement,
once considered a splinter group on the fringe of Christianity, has gained steam and entered the ‘90s at full speed.
Dramatic new accounts of bizarre, supernatural events are attracting men and women hungry for religious experiences while
causing others simply to ask, What is really happening here?, or more important, What should I believe?
The following 16-messages
thoughtfully and carefully shines the light of Scripture on teaching that is gaining a massive and loyal television following,
leading to disunity on a world-wide scale, and promising to fuel controversy for years to come.

John MacArthur.

Do You Think Of The Bible The Way Jesus Did?
There is not one command to listen
to God outside of scripture. So why would we search for a word or sign from outside of the written Word. We
have been commanded not to searching for a sign (conformation) by Jesus himself. Jesus proclaimed that it was a perverse generation
who sought after signs and wonders. Jesus did not make himself known on the road to Emmaus after his resurrection when ...”it
came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes
were holden that they should not know him.” (Luke 24:15-16)... “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning
himself.” (Luke 24:27)... “And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another; did not our
heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:30-32) After a short while Jesus stood in the midst of all eleven apostles ... “And he said unto them, These are the words
which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses,
and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the
scriptures,” Jesus used the Word. Do You Think Of The Bible The Way Jesus Did?
(Luke 24:44-45) Listen
as Pastor Mike Abendroth of Bethlehem Bible Church explains the importance of trusting the Word and using the Word as Jesus used the word.

Spiritual
Terrorism
Everywhere
in the world, biblical truth is under attack. What may surprise you is that the most devastating assault isn't coming
from outside the church--it's coming from spiritual terrorists within the church.
On the surface these terrorists look, act, and sound
like everyone else. In their comfortable concealment they raise doubts about God's Word, undermine its authority, and
create chaos that, left unchecked, destroys churches.
Who are the spiritual terrorists? How do you identify them--what are the telltale signs? And how can you defend yourself
against them?
In
twenty-five powerful verses, Jude provides the counterintelligence to foil Spiritual Terrorism. Let John MacArthur show you
how to spot enemies in the church, overcome their lies, and stay vigilant in the battle for truth. Compelled to Contend | Jude 3 Read | Download High Quality | Low Quality
